FC Barcelona is popularly known as Barca worldwide. A team that is star studded and that has some of the best football players from different countries of the world. If you are a football fan then you must be interested to know the history of Barcelona football club. It started its journey in the year 1899 and the glory has remained same in so many years. You can rarely find any such successful club in the history of world football. It is been more than a century and people still get crazy whenever there is any match of the football team. That is the magic of Barcelona FC. Since 1902 Barcelona FC faced some troubles. In the year 1908 new club president took the control and changed everything. He was the one who took all the responsibilities to build up the club's own stadium. Barcelona FC is one such club that has gone through a lot of ups and downs. However after every bad patch it came back successfully. The FC Barcelona fans have a nickname called culés. They are the dedicated fan base of this club. Since 1899 the fan base is there with the team and no matter where the team is playing culés always support them and cheer them up.

In the year 1939 the club was renamed as FC Barcelona. Before that the Catalan flag used to be there. However after that the flag was also removed from the shield. The Catalan flags and symbols were absolutely banned at that time. The football lovers continued to display their flag inside the stadium during the matches. FC Barcelona is Spain's one of the most successful club team. Another one is the Real Madrid team. These two teams are fierce rivals. Real Madrid was favored by the regime when Barca used to oppose them. Whenever these two teams meet on the field people can see fire on the field. Nothing can be more enjoyable than that in a football match. In time of Spanish civil war the matches were more than just football. These games used to be war as the coach of Barca was republican pilot at that time.

In the year 2006 UNICEF and Barca signed an agreement when the club donated 1.5 million Euros to the organization. It was the very first time in the history they wear any logo on their jersey as they were pretty adamant earlier about any types of advertisements. Today Barca has gained name and fame both. Players from others club and even from Real Madrid come to play with this club. Their successful journey will surely go a long way.
